Migrants are not just a sociological category, mere extras in a global phenomenon. First and foremost, they are people.
Men, women and children. Alone, with family or with friends and fellow countrymen, down through the centuries Italian migrants have moved around with their baggage of stories, emotions and lives. This movement continues today and will continue in the future.
Area 2 is dedicated to them, through five portraits that invite visitors to an exchange glances, to reflect upon the difficulties, dangers, hopes and joys experienced by migrants in every era and to empathise with them.
Five people, five stories of Italian emigration from the mid-19th century to the present day.
