In Area A07 of the Museum, Destination World, you will find a series of stories that describe Italian emigration to South America. These include emigration to Brazil, Uruguay, Peru, Chile and Argentina during the 19th and 20th centuries.
In Argentina, one of the main destinations of Italian emigration, there are over 20 million descendants of Italian immigrants. At the end of the 19th century, Italians accounted for 12.5% of the population.
Even today this country hosts the largest community of Italians abroad (884,000 people in 2020). Discover their stories.
